New Camera!!

Well I got my new Camera & loving it!! I may not be the professional but I am certainately looking the part!

Ma's Cat "Simmy" was my first model. For quite a tubby cat he wasn't at all self consious about baring all!

 

Ok so maybe he was just too lazy to do anything about it so he just lay there and copped it sweet!

Inspirational

The talk of the week in OZ has been all about Jessica Watson. A 16 year old attempting the record of youngest person to sail solo around the world.  There has been alot critics around, but me personally really thinks that she can do it! As a 24 year old who has never traveled out of Australia, I really wish that I had the same motivation (and courage) that she has. Although we do have somewhat similar. I left home at age 16 to attend a Agricurtural College in central Queensland. Sure it was only 12 hours from home but for the first day, as soon as Mum & Dad drove away I spent hours crying....

Speaking of crying I watched "Marley & Me" Today. Now I knew it was a chick flick, but I also thought it was a comedy... sure the start made me laugh, but the last 1/2 hour had me blubbing like a baby. I was on the exibike while watching with a box of tissues. L was looking at me as if to say..."Not Again!" Yes I Do tend to start blubbering away in those soppy movies, still, I don't know why I still make myself go through with it???  I've lost count of how many times I have seen Forrest Gump but I'll still need the Kleenex when Jenny dies. Is there a sappy movie addicts anonomsys    (must buy myself a dictionary)   that a person can attend?  Will have to look into it!:) 

Well thats about all my ramblings for today however, I'm sure I will think of something equally un-important as soon as I sign off......I didn't even have much to say to Mum tonight. Our usual hour talk was only about 15 minutes, we just could not think of anything new and exciting or anything noteworthy at all to talk about....

Airshow!

Earlier this year, the town I live in hosted a airshow, and because of work, got free tickets! There wasn't much variety... The highlight of the day was probably the stunt planes cutting a ribbon held up by a couple of guys I know.  However at that exact moment my point & shoot camera just wasn't up to scratch! Next week though I'm off to Brisbane for my cousin's engagement party, so I'm going Digital SLR Camera Shopping!!!! At this stage looking at the Nikon D5000 but I don't mind the Canon 500D either.

This was one of the stunt planes before he cut the ribbon. Really didn't expect this one to turn out so well because I couldn't see a bloody thing.

The Bullet, fastest truck in australia apparently...can only go a couple of minutes before the engine needs hosing down to cool it! Still tough though haha!

NQ rescue helicopter.... they thought they were the highlight of the whole day... all they did was rescue a dummy...excitement to the MAX!

Change of subject, I see on the news today that the "To smack or not to smack" debate going riot again. Just reading the comments on the web, it seems to be only a small % of the population that is against it. I have no feelings off resentment against my oldies...in fact I'm pretty sure my brother and myself deserved every single smack!  This whole political correctness hoohaa has just blown out off proportion. Actually I watched ABC's Hungry Beast last night and they made some really interesting points. Really did make you take a long hard look at yourself. After all I was helping to fuel the Media fire by reading the article and leaving a comment on the web......

• Hey Hey Its Saturday made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.... what a load off bullS#*t.. if an  white American actor can play a aussie actor playing a black african american surely a little tribute to MJ can't be wrong can it?
• Earthquakes & Tsunami's (not Salami's).....people dying surely this is the bigger issue?
• Just a bit of a perve.....nothing wrong with that :-)
• Tried Yoga for the first time... so what if it was on Youtube! No classes in a small town.
• Listening to The Rolling Stones.. on par with the Beatles I think.
• Thought about letting MIL birds out of cages....better not
• 2nd last episode of United States of Tara... damn! I think that show is brillant!
• Made a new dish for dinner....Chicken and Sweetpotato burrittos YUM YUM!

These 3 images where taken at the Mareeba Wetlands... I love the colours of the bright weeds against the murky water. Really do need to get them framed up I think..
